About Timbertrain

Timbertrain coffee was founded with a vision to unite people through a shared love for coffee. The team behind Timbertrain understands that the process of handling, preparing, and sourcing coffee requires a great deal of skill and consideration.

Sustainability

From the very beginning, the team was committed to sourcing only the finest beans from quality farms around the world. Each bean was carefully selected for its high-grade and ethical farming practices and then shipped to Vancouver to be roasted.

The team closely monitors every step of the coffee-making process, from the ethical sourcing of beans to the careful hand-roasting in-house. The end result is a beautifully crafted cup of coffee that can be shared and enjoyed by all.

Timbertrain's new coffee release, Cosmic Candy, follows their vision and features a coffee selection from the renowned Volcan Azul farm in Costa Rica.

Volcan Azul Farm

The farm, spanning 150 hectares, is managed by Alejo Castro and his family in the West Valley region of Costa Rica. As a fifth-generation descendant of esteemed specialty coffee producers, Alejo brings years of family tradition and expertise to the farm. His focus is on enhancing coffee quality while also having a positive impact on the environment. Alejo prioritizes sustainability and traceability, with almost 200 hectares of natural forest preserved on the farm and honeybees utilized to promote biodiversity. Volcan Azul handles the entire coffee process on-site, from cultivation to packaging.

About Cosmic Candy

The coffee we selected is the H1 Hybrid varietal, which has been processed using the natural method to highlight its distinctive characteristics. After one day of fermentation in an open tank, the coffee was dried for eight days on raised beds. H1 is a research varietal created by crossing the Sarchimore and Sudan Rume varietals, and it offers a high level of black fruit sweetness complemented by a silky texture.

Overall, Cosmic Candy represents a harmonious blend of deep fruit flavors and notable sweetness, making it an excellent choice for coffee enthusiasts.
